Cry me a River. The Quest for the Source


Cry Me a River - The quest for the source originated from an expedition to the source of the Styx, a river in Greece. In Greek mythology, this river forms the boundary between the earth and the underworld. Achilles was immersed in it, Narcissus fell in love with his own image (and drowned in it), the Greek dead swore by it and your memory disappeared when you drank from it.

 

Ophelia comes to Brooklyn (2017)

How do you get to know somebody through what they have left behind? Ophelia Comes to Brooklyn is a theatre script that Antje Katcher wrote in 1982. In 1967, when she was 20 years old, she emigrated from a small German town to New York City. When she died in 2014, she left an inheritance for her niece, Katja Dreyer, which included letters, poems, objects, a group of friends… all fragments of an unwritten biography.

Katja Dreyer lets us experience the past century in Chronicle, always through the eyes of a woman who is 40 years old in 1914, 1924, 1934, 1944, 1954 ... A dive into the eventful German and Belgian history, in which facts and fiction, the everyday and the historical constantly merge.

 

Uberflieger (2010)

On May 27, 1987, 19-year-old amateur pilot Mathias Rust flew in his Cessna from Helsinki to Moscow and landed close to Red Square. This individual, illegal peace mission touched the world. "Überflieger" pays homage to this bizarre, idealistic act of the "Don Quixote of the sky".
